I'm a great fan of the sound of the 80's but to be honest I've never been so much in Simple Minds but on the other hand I'm a fan of Leaether Strip so I'm sure this EP will help me to dive deeper in their music.
Favorite track: Waterfront (A tribute to Simple Minds).
I remember buying Simple Minds first album "Life in a day" when it was released back in 79 , and it had a big impact on me as did the next many of their earlier albums. Especially the keyboard parts and Jim Kerr's very poetic and, from what I feel, very improvised lyrics and melodies. They really had and still have their own sound and I just felt like paying tribute by covering 6 of my favorite songs of theirs.
